How to boost your creativity though microdosing Psychedelics

What are Psychedelics?

Psychedelics are a hallucinogenic class of drugs. Some of the most common substances you will hear about during a conversation about Psychedelics are LSD, Psilocybin, Mescaline, DMT, and Ayahuasca. When ingested, Psychedelics are known for giving you an intensely unique experience that often consists of auditory and visual hallucinations, a jumbled experience of your own 5 senses and a lack of understanding of the concept ‘self’.

Many individuals have reported the profound therapeutic after affects or ‘after glow’ of taking these substances. However, Psychedelics are extremely potent and have the ability to strip you of your once easy comprehension of reality and/or time and throw you into a whirl-pool of profound discovery and wonder beyond what we though possible.

The Psychedelic experience is notorious for boosting creativity in the brain, leaving individuals feeling inspired. Many artists are known for the inspiration they pull from experiences like this. You may be familiar with well known artists/musicians like Alex Grey or Jimi Hendrix. Both of these artists are well known in the Psychedelic community.

Of course, you will have mind-bending, reality altering experiences through taking larger doses of these substances. Although, the question is there; can you be awarded comparable benefits when taking smaller doses of Psychedelics? Do you have to take big and sometimes nerve wracking doses to achieve such benefits? Can you gain great creativity through simply micro-dosing Psychedelics?

How can I boost my creativity though micro-dosing Psychedelics?

The term ‘microdosing’ has become a hot topic in the modern day science community. There is a lot of mixed information available on the subject, as well as a lack of research, which makes it quite an interesting discussion. One of the main things that comes up during a discussion on microdosing Psychedelics is how it can assist in the more creative aspects of your life.

If you are interested in a short briefing of microdosing Psychedelics for creativity, look no further! We will be looking at what it is, how it works and the different reasons why people all over the globe are getting started on their microdosing journey. Specifically, we will be discussing if it is worth giving microdosing a try if you are looking to get those creative juices flowing.

What is microdosing?

Essentially, microdosing is the act of ingesting a micro-amount of a substance (often Psychedelics). A microdose of Psychedelics is small enough that it is a non-psychoactive amount, meaning you will not experience a ‘high’. The effects are meant to be sub perceptual.

Most people are aware of the therapeutic benefits one can achieve through regular doses of Psychedelics. However, it is looking like the advantages for taking small amounts are just as beneficial, in different areas.

Microdosing is known to encourage Neuroplasticity in the brain, which is believed to be the source of the main results one can achieve with microdosing. The often suggested microdosing schedule is 1 day on, 2-3 days off. However, some individuals report to only take it to help increase their focus when working on a large project or as a study tool when preparing for a test or exam.

Which Psychedelic substances are most common for microdosing?

The 2 most common substances used for microdosing is Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) and Psilocybin Mushrooms (AKA. Magic Mushrooms). Many will report a large difference when microdosing one or the other. However, most microdosers achieve similar ‘goals’ with both substances.

What amount is considered a ‘microdose’?

If you are microdosing LSD, it is believed that 10mcg of LSD is the optimum amount, however some find this is an arguable statement.

It is often recommended to dry a batch of psilocybin mushrooms, grind them down into a powdery consistency and ingest 0.1g of the powdered mushrooms.

The suggested amount largely depends on who you are asking. Unfortunately, due to the shortage of studies available on microdosing, the official dosage has yet to be confirmed.  Essentially, as long as the dosage is very minuscule and most importantly non-psychoactive, it should be adequate to achieve the results of microdosing.

How microdosing affects the brain

neuroplasticity

The Beckley/Maastricht Programme conducted a series of placebo related microdosing studies to explore it’s potential applications. The applicants were tested by their cognitive abilities, problem solving techniques, divergent thinking processes, etc. The researchers found those who had taken a microdose had improvement in both convergent and divergent thinking, however, the ‘level of intelligence’ remained the same.

Neuroplasticity (also known as neural plasticity or brain plasticity) is the brains ability to change. In neurology, this would be explained by neurons shooting down neuropathways that are not used as much as are less ‘worn in’. A lack of Neuroplasticity looks like neurons shooting down the same neuropathways over and over again. Neuroplasticity creates room for a creation of ideas, innovation, originality; creativity.

Cell Reports published a neurological data report focusing on how Psychedelic substances can affect the brain.  Part of the study’s conclusion was that Psychedelics had the capability to stimulate synapse formation. This shows that Psychedelics have the ability to encourage the shooting of neurons via newly formed synapse’s. When a Synapse is stimulated to form, neurons will likely flow between them, creating new neural connections in the brain.

When we look into this further, we know that this evidence highly suggests a multitude of things. A few of them being that Psychedelics can encourage an individual to learn new things with more ease, think outside the box, or be more creative through synapse formation/stimulation.

This data is groundbreaking for the Psychedelic science community.

Can microdosing Psychedelics do the same?

In the study finalized by Cell Reports, there was no clarification on what dosages were used whilst they conducted their various studies to complete the final report. However, the data provided could suggest that microdosing these substences

Essentially, this creates new neural connections, resulting in new ways of thinking and perhaps experiencing a new way of processing thought.  That being said, it is believed that microdosing Psychedelics can help you unlock new thoughts and ideas you didn’t realize were there, amusing your creative thinking abilities.

In conclusion, Psychedelic microdosing for creativity seems to be worth a try. Are you curious to try it for yourself? If you really can unlock your creative side and help produce some self-inspiration, what are you waiting for?

  1. Hi

I’m really interested in your product, I suffer from adhd and in my research I’ve come to believe that micro dosing will seriously increase my ability to focus. The only question I have is what dosage of psilocybin is contained within each capsule? I’m hoping to do 0.3g daily

    Many thanks
